New two-story brick custom home with limestone trim and slate-gray roof in suburban Cincinnati

New Construction Masonry in Cincinnati

Full-bed brick, natural stone and limestone trim for custom homes, laid from your plans by Swiss-trained masons.

Masonry for the house you build once

Swiss Masonry has laid brick and stone on Greater Cincinnati homes since 1993. On a new custom home we work to the architect’s details and the builder’s schedule, from the brick ledge on the foundation to the chimney cap.

What we build

Full-bed brick exteriors

Full-depth face brick, not thin brick, tied to the wall at code spacing and laid in Type N or S mortar to the spec.

Natural stone and ledgestone

Tumbled limestone, fieldstone and ledgestone sorted on the ground and set by hand, so the wall reads natural from the street.

Limestone and cast-stone trim

Sills, lintels, water tables and entry surrounds set true to the drawings, with flashing under the sills and over the heads.

Chimneys and fireplaces

Brick and stone chimneys and masonry fireplaces built to code, with lined flues and a crown that sheds water.

Additions matched to the house

New brick or stone on an addition matched to the existing house in size, color, bond and mortar joint.

Packages for custom builders

One masonry bid for the whole house, priced from your plans and sequenced with your build schedule.

How we work with owners, builders and architects

  1. We choose the brick and stone with you and your architect. A sample panel goes up on site, and you approve the color, bond and mortar before production starts.
  2. We work from the plans. Flashing, weeps, ties and expansion joints are detailed before the first course goes down.
  3. We coordinate with the framer, roofer and window installer so the flashing laps shingle-fashion at every window and roof line.
  4. We clean up every day. When the last course is laid we wash the masonry down, then walk the house with you before the scaffold comes down.

Questions from owners and builders

Do you price new construction masonry from plans?

Yes, Swiss Masonry prices new construction masonry from your architect's plans and gives you a free written estimate. Send the elevations and wall sections with your request.

Will you work under my custom builder?

Yes, Swiss Masonry works as the masonry subcontractor for custom builders on new homes. We set our schedule by the builder's, so the brick goes up after the windows and housewrap are in.

When should we bring in the mason?

Bring Swiss Masonry in while the house is still on paper, before the brick and stone are ordered. Getting the brick ledge and sill heights right on paper saves a change order in the field.
